I started my freelance career in August 2008, a month before the financial crisis started. As a result I have learned to run a very *lean* organization.

At the start I wanted to do lots of technical writing but as things tend to go I ended up doing more CSS than anything. By October of that year I was already building websites for clients. As the years went on I have found myself doing a lot of programming for various clients and also for fun.

In 2010 I moved to Québec so my business changed somewhat and I incorporated the business to be a separate legal entity in 2011. That has been my structure ever since. My company has been focused exclusively on remote freelance work the entire time. We work primarily with clients in Canada and the United States.
